Ping Rapture V2 Driver Hot List

The old Rapture was quite good, but this new and improved Ping Rapture V2 Driver is just that—both new and much improved. That's saying a whole lot because the old Rapture was by far the longest, best feeling, most well balanced multi-material composite driver on the market while the newer version remains multi-metal, but no longer multi material.

The new Ping Rapture V2 Driver represents the culmination of Ping's development of multi-metal technology that combines the key properties of the materials to maximize the performance of the driver. The Rapture V2 Driver's 460 cc head combines a titanium body with external tungsten weight pads that are located at the back of the club, near the heel and toe. The weight pads position the centre of gravity (CG) to allow the Ping Rapture V2 driver to deliver a lower spin and higher launch angle together with a higher moment of inertia (MOI) that improves both distance and accuracy. The clubhead of Ping Rapture V2 Driver is plasma-welded and its taller face has been machined to variable thicknesses to promote increased ball speed and is styled with an aggressively tapered crown featuring the Double-Rapture alignment aid.

Main features of Ping Rapture V2 Driver: Slightly elongated head profile for a higher MOI resulting in straighter drives on off-center hits; the mass properties of tungsten and titanium are optimized for higher launch and lower spin that delivers the performance expected from a multi-metal design; thin crown design for additional discretionary weight to optimize launch and spin along with increasing the MOI; multi-material head design fine tuned with finite element analysis (FEA) for powerful performance and sound; thin machined variable face with robotic plasma weld for exceptional performance and higher ball speed; new dual rapture graphic alignment aid for additional confidence.

This Ping Rapture V2 Driver is a blazing hot blaster that will be seen putting the others to shame this year. It wills more than likely end up setting records on tour, and makes Golf Digest's "Hot List."
