Multi-metal Rapture V2 Driver

Ping has kept the crown in the more traditional pear shape of the original Rapture – PingRapture V2 Driver, good news for those who want their 460cc disguised as a smaller headed driver. By expanding the height of the face and elongating clubhead dimensions, Ping has enlarged the sweet spot on the Rapture V2 clubface and provided a very hot face, providing supreme ball speed regardless of player skill level. Ping engineers have kept the hot face of the previous G10 and the solid sound and feel of the original Rapture and put it into the rapture V2 package. The ping rapture v2 driver has external tungsten weight pads in the heel and toe, optimizing the center of gravity (CG) location and setting the stage for lower spin and higher launch. The ping rapture v2 driver has a high MOI (moment of inertia) that gives it both forgiveness and accuracy, and it comes with a lightweight shaft for increased swing speed.

The mass properties of tungsten and titanium materials are improved in this ping rapture v2 driver to create a higher launching, lower spinning driver that delivers the performance expected from a multi-metal design. The visible, dense tungsten weight pads in the back of the lightweight titanium clubhead expand the perimeter weighting and locate the CG low and far away from the face. The 460cc head of ping rapture v2 driver is slightly elongated by extending the face height and aggressively sloping the crown. The thin face is precisely machined and plasma-welded to deliver higher ball speeds for greater distance.

Combining the slightly elongated face profile and high-technology mix of titanium body with tungsten weights, ping rapture v2 driver capitalizes on the club fitters’ holy grail of high launch, low spin. Ping rapture v2 driver realizes this without sacrificing performance and style. The dual tungsten weights help keep weight low and deep in the clubhead, making it easy to get the ball airborne.
